Adam Salyer is running for election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 118. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2020. He advanced from the Republican primary on March 3, 2020.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1976, Adam moved around as a child. Eventually, moving to Louisiana, where he graduated from Albany High School. Adam was an exceptional student. He excelled in athletics, specifically track where Adam was the district MVP. Life looked promising for Adam.

But for Adam the easy way was never his way. He joined the Army and served 14 years of service. Adams’ first Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was logistics and operations pertaining to the ULLS-G Computer system, inventories, shipping and receiving parts, dispatching, and balancing budgets for hundreds of soldiers. Adam would then be promoted to a Motor Sargent, while cross training as a light and heavy weight mechanic for various engineering battalions. During his time Adam was stationed in Belize, Honduras, and Korea.

After 14 years of service, tragedy struck, bring his military career to a halt. A serious injury left him in a wheelchair. His doctors giving him no chance of ever walking again. This may have been the doctor’s prognosis; they did not know the strength of Adam Salyer. Through unimaginable hard work, painful rehab, and faith, Adam survived 17 surgeries despite the doctor’s devastating prognosis. He walked again leaving the wheelchair in the past and grabbing life by the horns.

 Adam attended St. Phillip’s College where he received his Associate of Arts in  Theatre. Adam maintained a 3.7 GPA and graduated with honors in 2011. He was active in Phi Theta Kappa, Student Leadership Institute, and was President of the Student Government Association. The curriculum included the study of history,  literature, writing, philosophy, sociology, psychology, and creative arts. In May 2019, Adam received his Bachelor of Government / International relations / comparative politics from the University of The Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. Adam is a motivational speaker, singer, producer, and has authored many plays. He is also an owner of a comic book company, RZR Comics.

Adam became a successful Real Estate agent. Once again, his career was halted due to a Cancer diagnosis. After a 4-year battle, through his faith in God, Adam once again prevailed and beat the Cancer.  Setback again, Adam would retake his Real Estate training and licensing exam. He would pass and become a licensed agent in Texas.

From 2011 to 2015 Adam Salyer had served as a Two Term city councilman for Universal City, Texas Contributing to local government.

Adam Salyer is running for Texas State House Representative District 118. Adam loves his Community. He Honor’s the Military, Loves the Youth, Demands Better Education, wants Students to have better College prep and job training opportunities, and supports a Stronger Economy. District 118 needs more Economic Growth and Development, Better Roads and Safety in our own back yards. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.

This next 87th Legislature we will push forward legislation for full school reform. We will fight for property tax reform to ease the burden on Senior Citizens and Texans all around the state. I will not give empty promises to our district. We will promote policies that economically benefit the constituents of this district. Education is not Republican or Democrat. It is about our children and their future. Failing schools in our district is unacceptable. We must fight for better education. It is all about finding the next genius our schools. Not our schools being investigated. Traditional Family Values, I cannot stress this enough, is the foundation to our society. It is the building blocks for our kids. Now politicians are attacking our values we must stand Salyer Strong. Politicians in Austin have lost respect for good government. I’m a God-Fearing, Pro-life, Pro-Second Amendment and Pro Parent Control when it comes to sex education in schools. I’m Adam Salyer and I’m asking for your vote on November 3, 2020.
