It would be easy to think of Adam Salyer as a very successful person today for whom life has been easy. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1976, he was translated to Louisiana where he graduated from Albany high school. Adam was a very good student and excelled in athletics, specifically (track) where Adam was the district MVP in Louisiana. Life looked promising for Adam.
But for Adam the easy way wasn’t his way. He joined and excelled in his 14 years of military service, Adams’ first Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was logistics and dealing with operations pertaining to the ULLS-G Computer system, inventories, shipping and receiving parts, dispatching, and balancing budgets for hundreds of soldiers. Adam then would become a Motor Sargent, while cross training as a light and heavy weight mechanic for various engineering battalions. During his time Adam was stationed in Belize, Honduras and Korea.
But tragedy would intervene, his 14 years of service came to a screeching halt when serious injury left him in a wheelchair with his doctors giving him no chance of ever walking again. This may have been the doctor’s prognosis; however, they didn’t know Adam Salyer. Through unimaginable hard work, painful rehab and above all, Faith, Adam survived 17 surgeries and despite the doctor’s devastating prognosis. He travelled and walked out of the wheelchair and grab Life by the horns.
His first challenge was his liberal arts degree, which he obtained with a 3.7 GPA., also referred to as the humanities, includes the study of history, literature, writing, philosophy, sociology, psychology, creative arts, and more. Broadly speaking, students earning a liberal arts degree learn to formulate effective arguments, communicate well, and solve problems.
In August 2011 Adam received his associate of Arts, Theatre from St. Philip’s College, San Antonio, Texas. Graduated with honors, Phi Theta Kappa, student Leadership Institute, President Student Government Association. This explains well why Adam is a motivational speaker, singer, producer and has authored plays and owns a comic book company RZR Comics.
Adam Salyer then became a Real Estate agent for 3 years only to pause his career to battle Cancer over the next 4 years and through the Grace of God Adam became a Survivor. Setback again Adam had to retake his Real Estate training and licensing again and has continued for another 4 years.
From 2011 to 2015 Adam Salyer had served as a Two Term city councilman for Universal City, Texas Contributing to local government.
In May 2019 Adam received his Bachelor of Government / International relations / comparative politics. From the University of Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas.
Now Running for State House Representative District 118 Texas you can see why Adam Salyer loves the Community, Honor’s the Military, Demands Better Education, Loves the Youth and the Students taking life by the horns. Loves Opportunity and supports building even a Stronger Economy. District 118 needs more Economic Growth and Development, Better Roads and Safety in our own back yards. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.
This next 87th Legislature we need to complete school reform finding the balance of Lower taxes for our Senior Citizens, not with empty promises but with a district Representative promoting policies that people see working locally. Education is not republican or democrat its about our children. Failing schools in our district is not acceptable. Its all about finding the next genius in a trailer park, not our schools being investigated. Our Traditional Family values, I can’t stress this enough, is being challenged by elite politicians whose ideas and bad policies keep raising Taxes. They have lost respect for good government. I’m pro God, prolife, pro second amendment, pro parent control when it comes to sex education in schools. I’m asking for your vote.
